What Does The Resurrected Babylonian Head Mean?

By Donna Watson

The bible has made mentions of the antichrist in several books and using different words. These words include the beast and the dragon. Daniel refers to this beast in his narration on the 70th week. John the apostle makes the clearest mention of the resurrected Babylonian head. In fact, he does so in Revelation and later in the three letters though their order is reversed in the bible.

The first mention of the beast is in Revelation chapter 13. The description of that of Satan with ten horns and seven heads. It makes six appearances, each to represent a single head. These are representations of two entities that will be manifested during end times. There will be a kingdom or empire on one hand and a person on the other.

The origin of the beast is both from sea and land. The kingdoms that have ruled the world so far are Persia, Greece, Rome, Egypt and Syria, among others. God brought brutal kingdoms to punish Israelis whenever they went against his will especially through idolatry. The oppressive kings set out to separate the tribe of Judah or Israel from God. The ultimate rule will be by the final beast that will be very oppressive and destructive.

The description of the beast given in verse 3 chapter 13 is that of a fatal wound that has already healed. This is the mark that will cause adoration considering that heroes are celebrated because of their triumph. It is chapter 17 that gives a better explanation including the woman mentioned alongside this dragon.

The death and resurrection stated in verse eight of chapter seventeen is what makes it more of an empire than a person. If it were a person, it can only pretend to die. In the present day, global conspiracies can lead to death and resurrection of this person who will take the form of a beast. Logically, it would be impossible for God to allow a beast to resurrect and especially from abyss.

The book of Thessalonians gives a clear explanation of how and why God would cause the resurrection of a tyrant. The aim is to create a delusion with the aim of punishing people who fail to believe in him. The idea is to cause them to adore this resurrected beast that will lead to their death. These are the intentions and actions of the antichrist.

It is obvious and as mentioned before that six kingdoms and kings have already passed. The concern of present generation Christians should be on the seventh. As the bible says, the reign of the seventh will not be more than three and a half years. He will die and later resurrect as the eighth king and kingdom. This is clearly illustrated in chapter 17 verses nine to eleven.

Is there a possibility that the seventh and eventual eighth beast is the Islamic empire? What is clear is that it-the antichrist, shall proclaim death to anyone who does not follow his declarations. It will rule with an iron fist and cause untold destruction. The only people who will be safe are those who believe in the lamb.
