Discovering A Christian Meditation Webinar

By Cynthia Patterson

When it comes to faith, each individual often walks a different path. For those of the Christian faith, there are often many different sects within the religion. As such, while some may find a Christian Meditation Webinar beneficial, there are others who believe the Eastern based practice is in no way related to the Christian faith.

After the webinar, it became clear that there are now a number of Christians who believe that a combination of meditation and prayer can be beneficial. For, while prayer is often a method of making requests or giving thanks, meditation in the presence of God is often a process to quieten the mind and connect with Spirit on a deeper level.

In order to experience the practice and all it has to offer, one has to better understand the process. In most cases, it is a practice used to clear the mind so that one can relax and live in the moment. For some, maintaining consciousness is essential. Whereas, others often try to escape into a realm in which nothing is everything and everything nothing.

As it can often be difficult to clear the mind of all thought, there are some aids which can help. One of these aids is the art of relaxation through inhaling and exhaling deeply. Whereas, another involves counting to a specific number either forwards or backwards. During the process, should thoughts began to clutter the mind, it is important to let go of the thoughts and repeat the process.

While the focus of meditation is often to clear the mind, there are varying techniques and outcomes. For example, some individuals use the practice to sit quietly and relax. Whereas, there are others whom use the practice to eliminate negative emotions in an attempt to become a more positive presence in the future. In most cases, individuals report experiencing far less anxiety and stress when practicing on a daily or weekly basis.

By using the practice to analyze emotions such as anger, depression, grief, happiness, love and hate, an individual can often become better acquainted with oneself and others through the meditative process. Whereas, those having difficulty in friendships and relationships can often use the practice to contemplate how to improve those relationships over time.

When it comes to meditating for Christians, most often individuals focus on issues related to church, faith and forgiveness. In addition, those in the ministry often find the practice a great way to prepare for delivering a sermon. Whereas, many also use the practice while designing, developing and writing sermons on a regular basis.

Different techniques work better for different people at different times. With this being the case, it may take some time to figure out which works best for current needs. For, while techniques may work in one area, an individual might need to change techniques based on future needs. Whatever the case, research has shown that any form of meditative practice often has a positive aspect on overall health and well being.
