It is not only those who have been saved on the continents like Asia, Europe, South America and Africa, but Youth with a Mission also works on Ships. They have a ship which goes out to people who are in need and minister to them. You will do your DTS here, and afterwards, you will go with the rest of the students to various third world countries on the ship.
There are many doctors and nurses who take some time off from their regular jobs to do this kind of work. It can be very rewarding to be situated in one of these YWAM DTS locations, and these people would have never had the chance to have an operation because of the poverty. There are major procedures that are carried out, and this is where professional medical people are needed in a case like this.
