However, these documents are used separately for its own purpose. A birth certificate is needed when dealing with some government transactions. A processing fee as to be paid in order to gain access to the document but this may differ on the type of file being requested. One has to fill out the application form with the basic information of the file in question as well as the contact details of the one who filed the request.

In order to obtain a copy of a criminal record in the state of Minnesota, one has to go to the Public Safety Department of the state. A processing fee is also needed to obtain the requested file but this would depend on the type of document and the method used to process the request. One can do a fingerprint scan in order to get a copy of a criminal record but that the fee is higher than the usual search. The basic information of the criminal record being requested is also needed when requesting for a copy of such file. It is also important to provide the contact details of the one who filed the request for documentation purposes. By following all of the set guidelines, the retrieval process would be easier.
