If you are a regular Church goer or you have just decided to start going for service, you might want the experience that you have there to be quite pleasant. This is possible if you keep a few things in mind. This will help you to make the most of your time at First Baptist Church Columbia.

To enjoy services more, you need to more than just attend services; you also need to take part in them. This includes serving in various capacities. This can be in the music ministry, children's ministry or ushering. You can even join the worship team. You can talk to the administration to see what roles are available for members to take up. This will help you get more involved and feel as part of the group.

Do not isolate yourself, rather, try and socialize with other people with the aim of making friends. There are a lot of people who may not have friends and they may just be looking for people to interact with. You can give support and encouragement to others, especially those who are going through a hard time.

It is advisable that you psychologically prepare yourself for the church service. You can do this by being in a prayerful mood. Pray for the service and the service leader for that day. Also, pray for other members of the congregation. You can also take time to read the bible passages that the day's sermon will be preached from. This helps you know what to expect.

The place will be much more fun if you invite other people to join you. You can go with your family members or you can invite your friends. Having someone else to chat with about the ongoing and as you go there will give you something to look forward to.

It is important to arrive on time, that way, you are not rushed to settle day and quickly tune in to what is going on. This takes lots of planning, so that you can leave home on time. It will be better if you can arrive a few minutes early to the start of the service. This will give you time to socialize with some of the other people who have also come early.

Take time and speak to other people after the service has ended. Do not just head straight home. This will give you a good chance to know others. Also, if you feel comfortable, you can invite someone to lunch in your home or you can take them out to a restaurant.

During service, it is important that you careful select where to seat. Find somewhere where you will not be distracted once the service starts. Also, choose a place where you can easily see the front, so that it will be much easier for you to follow what is going on. This will help you keep track of the whole service and learn a lot from it.
