The Different Kinds Of Maryland Churches

By Roger Wagner

It is always good to have a moral compass. When immorality rules the day, the end of a nation is very near. On the other hand, a moral nation will become a powerful and successful country. Religion and morality go hand in hand. If there is one religion that emphasizes the issue of morality greatly then it is Christianity. America is a Christian nation. Maryland is an American city. One will find more than one type of church is Maryland. As a matter of fact, Maryland churches play an important role in society. They instill vital moral values into individuals.

In Maryland, Unites States, one is likely to find the Catholic Church. This is the biggest Christian denomination on planet earth. Also, a big percentage of Americans are Christians. The headquarters of the Catholic Church is in the Vatican, which is an independent territory in Rome, Italy. That is where the pope usually stays. Below the pope, there are archbishops and bishops.

Catholic is the dominant Christian domination. Most countries on earth have Catholics. There are plenty of Catholics in America. After Catholicism, the second most popular Christian denomination in America is Protestantism. This is an offshoot of Catholicism. In the early centuries, there were people who were dissatisfied with practices of Catholicism. As a result, they started a new Christian faith: Protestantism.

Maryland has its fair share of Protestant churches. After all, it is a very Christian state just like other American states like the State of Texas. In this state, one will not fail to find the Anglican Church that is considered one of the earliest Protestant denominations. Lutheran Church that was started by a man by the same name is also in America.

Europeans did not only bring colonization to America. They also brought Christianity. Latter, Americans developed their own Christian churches. One of them is the Seventh Day Adventist. The other is the Latter Day Saints. Baptist is also indigenous to America. As a matter of fact, a good percentage of Americans belong to the Baptist faith. Baptists have spread their religion to many countries.

Most Christian denominations consider Sunday to be the official day of worship. The only exception is the Seventh Day Adventists, who usually worship on Saturday. The day of worship is not a big deal. What matters most is the message that is preached at the end of the day. The message needs to come straight from the Holy Bible.

Whether one goes to church on Saturday or Sunday is not a big deal. That is a trivial issue that some Christians like to blow out of proportion. What matters the most is that one follows the messages that are preached in Church because that is what will guarantee entry into heaven. A believer should be more than just a Sunday Christian.

American is a Christian nation. Its constitution was inspired by the Ten Commandments. That is why it the most powerful and successful country on planet earth. Most Western nations have Christianity as the official religion. Christianity is spreading all over the world. It is quickly spreading in Africa and Asia. South America is largely Christian with Catholic being the dominant religion.
