Every state will have certain statutes made to ensure that everything runs as required. That is why there is British Virgin Islands law which comprises of a combination of old and new ones. First, there was enacted an act to control tobacco products within designated areas. It ensures that smokers are banned from smoking in public areas and any place fifty feet within reach of the public areas. These areas include airports, ferry terminals, sports facilities and any other public venue. In case one is found smoking in these areas gets a fine of not less than one thousand dollars.

Marriage is among the events which many people like. Every couple looks forward to getting married to individuals they love. The marriage activity is held before an attorney general chamber after applying for it. The certificate takes only three working days after which you are provided with the marriage permit. It is valid for three months, and one is needed to renew it.

One is expected to have a temporal BVI driver license. This can be got from the vehicle licensing department or a car hire company. With such a permit, one is only required to produce it when required and make a payment of about ten dollars. Also, it is valid for only three months and is given only to persons over eighteen years old.

The persons willing to engage in fishing activities are expected to apply for a fishing license. It is provided by the marine and fisheries department which is responsible for controlling the activity. People are not allowed to undertake the activity along the island waters without the permit. The vessels used must be authorized and certified to be engaged in the activity.

There is a law enacted to protect turtles. The law requires people not to engage in activities which can lead to the killing of turtles with their eggs when not in season. The specified period is usually between April to November. Moreover, the state has enhanced some statutes against the use of guns and spears. This can lead to one being fined ransom amounts.

The government has abolished removal of seashells, sand and any other material from BVI beaches. This helps to protect injuring, removing, breaking or any destruction of living coral and mangroves along the islands. For that reason, enabling them to grow without tampering with them in any way. Therefore, one is not allowed to pull fishing nets along the shorelines.

Lastly, people are expected to have licenses for private jetties, buoys, and other marine facilities. There is an annual fee applicable for all commercial and non-commercial facilities.
