How To Use A Charm Catcher Effective

By Frank Bennett

Ancient societies held the belief that nature was connected through an energy stream. Animals, objects and people tapped their power from this singular stream. Dreams, both good and bad were found in the air. The charm catcher was used to confuse the bad dreams and allow the good ones to get to a person. This ensured that one had a good night sleep and luck during the day. Capturing the good charms and confusing the bad ones required a web.

The design of catchers depended on personal preference with the existence of both large and small catchers. The components used included strings, feathers, crystals and other pendants. They are obtainable from specialty shops though they are easily mistaken for necklaces or other ornaments. The design will depend on the part of the body where you intend to use it.

Tradition gave grandmothers the responsibility of weaving catchers for new born children. They were hang in bedrooms used by children to catch bad dreams and therefore guarantee a goodnight sleep. They were also used for good luck purposes in necklaces and chains. For adults, they are used to protect them from bad luck. The main catcher is a feather from any bird.

The need to capture good charms while on the move and avoid the bad charms has pushed people away from feathers. Though feathers are still used as pendants, they are exposed to damage through water and sweat, among other secretions from the body . They have thus fallen out of favor and instead people are using crystals and other natural materials.

The overall design of a catcher depends on personal taste. Personal preference does not eliminate the web and the feather from the general design. The web is used for confusing bad omen while movement of the feather indicates a passing dream. Catchers come in different shapes, the most popular ones being circular. Some people prefer abstract shapes as long as the feather is there. The color is not a factor when designing a catcher.

Movement from the natural feather has allowed sculptors to exercise a bit of creativity. They have turned to metals like aluminum and copper among other popular ones used in manufacturing necklaces and pendants. Some of these feather images are concealed in ordinary bracelets and necklaces. Such concealing allows you to still adorn the catcher without being extra careful or conscious.

It is a ritual to take the catchers to the park before adorning them on your body. The idea is to allow the catcher to tap into the natural charms in the environment. A cotton bag is used to transport the charms because its softness protects them from harm. Catchers also need to move freely in order to capture bad dreams. As such, they are kept away from walls when used around beds. It is ok to hang it on the neck or a place where the feather is not restricted from movement.

The shape or color of catchers does not affect their effectiveness. They will still protect you from harm and herald a good fortune once they become a part of your life. To avoid excessive consciousness, assimilate them as a part of your life. Giving catchers a personal twist does not make it any less effective.
