Debunking Common Myths Concerning Conception

By Gary Taylor

Coupes and women trying to conceive have been known to do the weirdest things. Some of the stories told boarder fiction but surprisingly, they are true. Some of the myths Concerning Conception are based on misinformation and only lead to greater frustrations. To build realistic expectations, here are some of the common myths that have been confirmed to be falsehood and not based on any fact.

There is no preferred position for a woman to conceive. There are stories of bedroom gymnastics as the couples attempt to increase their chances. Some have raised their legs after sex for hours while others did head stands. The only recommended position is to lie on the bed longer to increase semen retention in the body. A larger volume will boost your chances marginally. Adding pain to your neck and forcing your partner into weird positions will not help.

Your chances will not increase because you had sex on daily basis. The chances are only high when you master your fertility cycle and time the best time for sex. Unfortunately, scientists confirm that daily sex will make semen less effective because it lowers the percentage, concentration and sperm count. It is recommended that you engage in sex about six days before the woman ovulates and continue for the next ten.

Withdrawal method will stop you from getting conceiving. This is advocated by Planned Parenthood but it has been associated with 4 out of 100 women getting pregnant even when there is mastery of the technique. In some case, 27 percent of those who tried still conceived. It is therefore impossible to rule out pregnancy. Pre-ejaculation fluid will still deposit sperms and lead to pregnancy.

Timing sex to influence the sex of your baby is a matter of chance. There are many other factors that determine sex beyond timing. Some people advocate for particular sex positions, facing north when having sex and having sex during particular days of the month in order to have a boy. Girls on the other hand will result from missionary sex position or waiting for full moon to have sex. The only confirmed influencer is diet where you must increase your calories, Vit B12, C, E, Pottasium and calcium to have a one percent chance.

For a woman to conceive, orgasm is not mandatory. Orgasm is preferred for sexual satisfaction and is usually linked to higher retention of sperms into the body of a woman. This is because the contracting muscles carry sperms inwards, increasing the speed of conception. However, the sperm will naturally swim to the egg even without orgasm.

Cooling your husbands jet engine will make him more fertile. This is a fact that is scientifically proven. It has been confirmed that sperm count rises with cooler temperature. Hot tubs, saunas and hot baths should be avoided. However, it will take at least 60 days for any significant change in sperm count upon taking continuous cooling measures. An ice pack on his genitals in between sessions will therefore be a waste of time.

Conception journey is personal for every individuals or couple. Numerous factors cause speedy or failed conception meaning that a universal solution cannot apply. Only a reproductive health specialist can help you establish the real problem and propose the best solution. Do not result into an act that will compromise your health or future chances.
