Starting a ministry is no easy task especially if one only has a few people to help him out. Starting one is actually pretty much as hard starting a businesses because of all the steps and processes that he has to take of course with the exception of the legalities and such. However, if one feels like this is really his calling, then here some steps on how to get a christian ministry started.
Now just like when forming any regular organization, one would first have to gather a group of people who are willing to devote their time and their efforts to this cause. Now this group of people is known as the core group or the support group and in it are the people who would help the founder manage the ministry. Now the founder can gather as many or as few people as he would want.
Once the core group has already been established, then the next step would be to draft up a mission and vision. The mission and vision will give the group an idea of where they are right now and what direction they must take in order to achieve their goals. From there, they should then create both long term and short term goals.
When that is already done, the next thing to do would be to create a name for the group. The name is very important because this is what will attract the followers. So first, think of a nice and catchy name then search for the name online to check if it has already been taken by other ministries.
Now during this point on, the support group must already look for some local churches that they should partner up with. Now this is extremely important because small and growing ministries must have backers who can support them when something happens. Although one may find partners later on, it is more beneficial to look for them earlier.
Now the next thing that one has to do now would be to come up with a statement of faith. Now this is another important thing because it will give people a better idea about what the purpose of the organization is. The statement of faith will include the purposes, beliefs, and doctrines of the organization.
Of course the next thing to do would be to find a place where all the followers and the core group can meet. Now this is actually one of the advantages of partnering up with a local church earlier. If one is a partner of a local church, the church will actually allow the members to make use of some space.
