She could hear the young nurses cursing at her under their breath each time they entered into the room. They would often push and hit her on many occasions but there was nothing that she could do about this situation. The senior woman could still feel the hot soup that was purposely spilled on her lap. She would also go for days without having a good bath.
The selfish granddaughter who had placed her in this environment only visited the old lady once a month. She could not pick up on any of the warning signs that were given to her when she did come to visit. Anyone could tell that the staff members were able to put on a good deceptive act since this older woman could not voice her own opinions anymore.
The younger woman was satisfied with this facility and she continued to let her grandmother reside there. She had no idea about the horrors which were happening during all hours of the day. The male assistants at this place were just as cruel as their female workers. One attendant cut one of his patients on purpose while he was giving him a shave.
Many of the other residents were allowed to sleep in their own bodily fluids throughout the night since no one would take them to the bathroom. The entire place smelled like feces and urination at night. Some of these patients had sores on their body because of this neglect. These incidents continued to happen for many years.
Unfortunately this older grandmother passed away and the other residents were rescued by the state of Louisiana. Fortunately the state was also able to arrest many of the male workers who were also raping the patients. Things are now quite different at this particular facility.
