Key Aspect About Biblical Apologetics

By Frances Clark

Christian Apologetics is a theological branch which tends to defend Christianity from oppositions. There exist numerous objections about the existence of God and the whole concept of Christianity bringing along different debates about this. As a Christian, it is essential to embrace the concept of apologetics to have a strong ground to argue with individuals resisting the existence of your religion. The following are basic thoughts about Biblical apologetics.

The origin of this concept. The defense for the faith started as early as the second century. It resulted due to the opposition from the Greek philosophers to limit the spread of Christianity. Those who stood up as apologetics had three basic arguments to an emphasis on. First, they wanted to disapprove the Greek philosophies, eliminate the assumption that believers are atheists and also immoral in nature. Also, it was to help them understand faith and its relation to the Old Testament.

The main objectives of this concept. Apologetic is meant to achieve three basic objectives. Show the truth to non-believers through vindication, disapproving false accusation from non-believers and opposing lies which are surrounding the faith. These objectives are crucial despite the arguments of most Christianity that one should not by any means defend or try to argue aspects regarding the church.

The relationship between apologetics and evangelism. Basically, evangelism is the spread of the word of God. Faith defense is considered as a pre-evangelism which remove the opposition nature of a non-believer to prepare viable grounds to preach the gospel. Most non-believers have an intellectual objection against the concept of Christianity hence the need to bring in faith-based defense which is based on their intellectual arguments to be on the same level.

The approach of faith defense through epistemologies. There are three aspects that are involved in the approach. They include basing your argument purely through the word of God, appraisal of other belief systems to affirm the existence of a supreme being who is God, and through personal experiences considered as a mystic. This can be simplified into basic aspects that God is imminent and transcendence and understanding that sin has separated us from Him.

The argument approach methods. The process has five different aspects that can be used. These aspects include the reformed epistemology, cumulative cases, evident process, classical, and the proposition process. There are detailed aspects that one needs to comprehend about. Therefore, you need to acknowledge them to become effective.

Using the bible in defense. The bible is the word of God and forms the basis of Christianity. Therefore, failing to read and comprehend its word nullify the basic argument that Christianity is vague. Therefore, people who fail to argue without making reference to the bible are not considered to be relevant. On the other hand, it argues that faith defenders should practically live according to its teaching and preach according to the scriptures.

Objection outside the Bible. Logically, one cannot be against something which He or she does not believe in. Therefore, it is effortless for a non-believer to be against God, and yet he or she believes that He does not exist. On the other hand, one is expected to have faith and should know that one cannot understand God in our human nature.
