How To Master Godly Wisdom

By Peter Ward

Scriptures say that it is better to be wise than amass earthly possessions. According to this scripture, people with Godly wisdom can conquer any challenge and acquire any possession they desire. This is one of the basic requirements for kings and rulers. While God grants insight and counsel, it takes several exercises on daily basis to master it.

Read the scriptures to understand what God wants from his people. The scripture is considered as direct message to His people. This means that it is the ultimate source of counsel and foundation of any knowledge that a human being should possess. It is this word that guides you on what is expected of wise people and how to distinguish between worldly and heavenly insights.

Keep the company of wise men and women. The company a person keeps determines the kind of person he becomes. If you keep company of wise people, you will also be wise. If the company is of fools, you will copy their mannerisms. Company teachers you how to act and react in different circumstances. This is better than reading or listening to narratives. It is advantageous since the lessons are taught in real time.

Pay attention to what the messengers sent by God are saying. Messengers are one of the channels used by God to communicate to his people. They make it easier to interpret what God says to his people. However, you must be cautious not to fall victim to worldly prophets who skew the message to favor them. Vet the actions of prophets to ensure that their motivation is heavenly.

Take time to meditate on the message given by God. It is through medication that you go deeper into the word. It gives you greater insights into ideas of God and the situations that God desires you to understand. There are issues whose counsel is only obtained through deep meditations. This will make your real life easier to understand. It is considered more rewarding than listening to people talking about God.

Control your anger and reactions in all circumstances. Wisdom is seen in how you act and react to situations that you encounter. Rush decisions are responsible for some of the worst judgments in history. Other than rush into judging a person or situation, take time to understand the situation each of the actors was exposed to that led to such a decision.

You need to be righteous for you to be considered wise. Evil cannot make you wise in any way. Such inconsistency will only lead to problems. The eyes of men will watch your actions and determine whether you are wise. By being righteous, your actions and decisions will show a great deal of wisdom that leads people to beautiful destinations.

The wisdom of God grows with time. The challenges that made a person wise in the seventeenth century have been overcome and new ones emerged. You must therefore keep updating your acumen by reading books, sharing your knowledge and meditating on circumstances as they emerge. Being wise is hard work and a revelation that comes from God.
